The job

Foundations for a new building on open, stony ground below the hills, built from stone dressed on site.

A stone foundation under construction below a rocky hill; an engineer in an orange vest measures the course while a colleague in a red hard hat works behind.
Four people standing on a building site by piles of gravel and stone, acacia trees behind.

What we did

Set out the building with tape and string line, laid the foundation courses in stone and cement mortar, and checked each course for line and level.

On site

Stone was stacked by the trenches and laid course by course, with an engineer checking dimensions as the walls rose.
